Luxe link purse holders are cute and very functional!

I wasn't sure if I would like having to take out a purse holder every time I needed to put my purse down, but after getting my very first Luxe link purseholder, I was hooked!  :-)

The Luxe link holders come in a beautiful suede pouch that makes it easy to throw into my bag without fear of having it get scratched or cracked (more on this later!).  More importantly, when I take out my luxe link I love the oohs and ahhs I get from the people at the table.

Jeans to fit your body

Jeans is a fall fashion favorite!  Wear it totally casual with ballet flats, sandals, or in Hawaii, slippers.  Dress it up for the night time with wedge or strappy heels!  If you find a nice dark pair of jean slacks, you can even wear it to some offices!  Not only are they versatile, but they are so comfortable and easy to wear, both of which are perfect for the on the go busy woman!

Style of the week...skinny pants and chunky sweaters...

This week, we're loving chunky sweaters and skinny pants.  Although the weather in Hawaii hasn't reached winter temperatures yet, this look is perfect for chilly offices or late night outings.  Layer with a tank or thin blouse and you'll be ready for the transition from cool to warm. Aside from being fashionable, sweaters make us look and feel good all over...Check out this short InStyle article about chunky sweaters.

Black tunics are perfect for pairing with leggings, if the tunics are long enough. (See blog below for wearing leggings.)  You can also pair them with anything ranging from skinny jeans or pants, slacks, or skirts.  Because of the tunic's  simple style, it's also fun to pair with different jewelry.  Long pendant necklaces, chain necklaces, chunky chokers, big chunky earrings, dainty earrings...they all look good on tunics!  Most tunics also run a 3/4 length sleeve, making them perfect for bangle bracelets!

Item of the week...leggings!!!

Leggings are a must this season!  They are perfect for everything from picnicking on the weekends to lunch with friends at your fav restaurant to the office to dinner or the club!  Dress it down with long tees or up with dressier tunics or mini dresses.  Dress it up with chunky accessories or pair it down with a simple long pendant necklace.  However you decide to dress them, here are a few tips for wearing leggings.

• Try to wear with long tunics or tees that go to mid-thigh.  This will help enhance your figure and will keep you from looking like you're on your way to the gym.
• Pair leggings with ballet flats or simple pumps.  Stay away from the stilleto heels on this one.
• Stay away from shiny fabrics. 
• If you're petite, avoid tunics and dresses that go below mid-thigh.  Also, strive for a monochromatic ensemble, which will elongate you!
• When wearing a tunic top or tshirt, it's best to balance out the tightness of the leggings with a roomier style on top.  However, if you're pairing a mini dress or skirt with the leggings, it's OK for the dress or top to be a more fitted style. For example, pairing our black leggings with our blue jersey knotted strap dress would be totally cute! 
• Treat your leggings as an accessory, not as pants.  They are simply used to enhance a casual outfit, not used to replace slacks.  They are also not the main component of the ensemble.  Match the color of the leggings to a color that can be found in the rest of the outfit. 
• Another option to leggings, however, are skinny pants.  It fits almost like leggings but have the style and fabric of slacks or jeans.  These are a super cute option of making a leggings outfit look dressier or more chic...We are almost completely sold out of our skinny pants, but may bring in more...

It's called dress by design and on it, you can create your own dress, including the type of neckline, length of hem, style of dress, fabric, sleeve, and more. It's a little pricey. Finding your style

If you're like me, you enjoy fashion and you enjoy shopping. If you're also like me, you've at one time or another struggled with figuring out exactly what your style is. Your style is something that is completely personal to you. It embodies your personality, your likes and dislikes, your body shape, your lifestyle, and more!

For me, I've always felt like I couldn't nail down my style because my life is constantly changing and going through different stages and because I love so many different types of fashions. I would love to dress bohemian chic one day, go totally urban the next, and end the week ultra romantic. So, I sought the help of style experts by way of fashion magazines and books to help me figure out this whole "style" thing.

Although I will not dish out a lot of my own personal advice on finding your style, I will say that when you have such varied fashion tastes like I do, the best thing you can do for your wardrobe is to make sure you have key fundamental pieces that can transition to many different types of looks. Basic tops, skirts, jeans, and leggings (with the right accessories!) can be transformed into virtually any type of look you want.

How to wear yellow

The color yellow emotes happiness, joy, and sunshine. Especially in the Spring and Summer months, I love looking at the beautiful yellow dresses and tops that hang in store windows. But, growing up, I've always been told that I should stay away from yellow and that it didn't compliment my asian skin tone.


I eventually learned that anyone can wear the color yellow and everyone CAN look beautiful in it. Remember that there are lots of different variations of textures and shades of yellow out there.
